Satellite distribution is the thing that really has made the difference when it comes
to the development of the TV medium. In this chapter I have tried to tell the history
of the geostationary TV satellites starting with Arthur C. Clarke’s famous article
in the October 1945 edition of Wireless World. How to launch a satellite? What are
the launcher alternatives? How is the coverage areas of the satellites designed?
This chapter's intent is to tell all that you need to know about space technology
to get on with satellite television.
Chapter 3 contains 31 illustrations.
