Chapter 11. The Home Cinema

The “Home Cinema” is covered in detail in this chapter.  Various display devices, such as plasmas and LCDs are presented in detail as well as projection systems based on LCDs and on Digital Micro mirror Devices (DMDs). Handling different picture aspect ratios is important and is fully discussed. It is natural to let a large portion of the chapter deal with audio. All analog and digital multichannel audio formats are covered and ways of connecting the devices included in a home cinema or home theater system are discussed thoroughly.

Chapter 11 includes 25 illustrations 5 of which are in the color insert.

A digital receiver is an excellent program source in a home cinema system.
